No.2カマンがコープマンの家に泊まっているので、お昼ご飯をご馳走になりに遊びに行く。
ホワイトマンのNo.1、No.2、No.3と3人が一緒に集まるのは１年ぶりくらいではなかろうか。
そんな懐かしさを味わうわけでもなく、いつも会っているかのようにバカ話で盛り上がる。
僕の髪型が８０年代一世を風靡したCCBのリュウちゃんに似ているとカマンが言われた。
その場では恥ずかしくて言えなかった話がある。
実は僕は中学生の頃、バレンタインデーに年下の女の子からチョコと一緒に日記をもらった。
その日記の中で僕は何故か「リュウ」と呼ばれていた。
学ランの裏生地に龍が入っていたからなのか、それとも当時もCCBのリュウちゃんに似ていたからかはわからないが、他らからは「イシコ」と呼ばれていたのに日記の中で「リュウ」と呼ばれていることが、何だか不思議な感じであった。
しかし、何故、日記をもらったのかは未だに不明である。
今日は２本映画を見ようと張り切っていたのだが、映画館に行くと観たい映画が始まったばかりであった。
近くの喫茶店に行き、書き仕事をする。
１本は諦め、夕方、「リトルランナー」の試写を観る。
子供、家族、スポーツもう泣く要素満載の作品である。
案の定、泣いた。
泣きながら、最近、マラソンしていないなぁと反省もした。
試写の後、テレビディレクターの多嘉山氏、WOWWOWの宣伝の井上氏、NHKのヒメと渋谷で飲む。
井上氏は僕が雑誌編集長時代の数少ない編集部員だった。
英語が話せる彼女は海外取材でいつも英語の話せない僕のお守りをしてくれた。
そんな彼女も間もなく３０歳になると言う。
「だってもうすぐ４０歳でしょ？」
と言われ、ふと我に返るイシコであった。
