昨年、CNNヨーロッパの取材で「ホワイトマンは歌舞伎の影響を受けているのか？」と聞かれた。
否定するのも面倒なので、「はい」と答えてしまった。
そんなイシコは、今日、生まれて初めて歌舞伎を拝見した。
筋書きを購入して読み、イヤホンガイドを借り、ビールを持ち込んでこれで完璧である。
サニーサイドアップの松本氏から
「イシコは絶対に寝るね」
と予言されていたが、最後まで見届けた。
「勧進帳」で少し意識が遠くなりかけたが。
何より衣装に感動してしまった。
やはり日本の色彩感覚の繊細さは素晴らしいなぁと。
次、取材があったときは「歌舞伎の影響を受けている」のではなく、「歌舞伎の影響を受けさせてください」とお願いしようと思う。
